Catherine Callahan studied painting at the State University of New York at New Paltz and landscape architecture at Cornell University. She is the recipient of several awards including the Individual Artist Award from the Cornell University Council on the Arts and various Special Opportunity Stipends from the New York Foundation on the Arts.  Her work has been shown in galleries and non-profit venues and she is the founder of the bi-annual Byrdcliffe Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition held on the grounds of the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony in Woodstock, New York.  She works in Portland, Maine.
